Fret Mill Music Co. offers repair and service for stringed instruments and most tube amplifiers.  The following is a list of some of the services we offer.

Tuning

Bring in your stringed instrument to be tuned.

• Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Fiddle, Banjo, Ukulele, Dobro and Lap Dulcimer tuning: FREE!
• Autoharp and Hammered Dulcimer tuning:  $20.00
  

Restrings

Buy a set of strings and get your instrument restrung and cleaned while you wait or drop it off and pick it up later.

• Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar (non-floating tremolo), Bass Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle and Ukuleles: $10.00
• Dobro and Mandolin: $13.00
• 12-String Guitar, Nylon String and floating tremolo Electric Guitars: $15.00
• ***SAVE $5.00 on your restring if you bring it in Monday – Friday***

Setups

Get your stringed instrument set up to factory specs or to your own liking.  Just purchase the string gauge of your choice and drop off your instrument.

• Acoustic Guitar, Electric (non-floating tremolo) Guitar, Bass and Mandolin  setups include: Adjusting the intonation, action (height of the strings) and truss rod, Checking the bridge, nut and saddle, Adjust the pickup height, Check electronics, Tighten loose hardware.   $50.00+
• Banjo setups include:  Adjusting the intonation, action, neck and truss rod, Checking the bridge and nut, Tighten loose hardware, Tighten/Tune banjo head.  $50.00+
• Floyd Rose Tremolo setups include: Adjusting the intonation, action (height of the strings) and truss rod, Checking the nut and saddles, Adjust the pickup height, Check electronics, Tighten loose hardware, Properly adjust the tremolo.  $60.00+

Pickup Installation

Buy a pickup from us or bring one in to have professionally installed in your instrument.

• Acoustic instrument pickup installation: $50.00+
• Electric guitar pickup installation: $30.00+

Saddles & Nuts

Need a new saddle or nut?  Have us install a custom bone nut or saddle for your instrument.

• New bone saddle: $50.00
• New bone nut: $50.00
  

Fretwork

Have the frets on your instrument dressed or replaced.

• Getting a fret dress (or fret mill) will level out the frets and eliminate buzzes along the fretboard.   $75.00+
• If your frets are wore out, then your instrument may need to be refretted.  $150.00+
• If you need only a few frets replaced, we can give you an estimate based on what you need.

Neck Resets

If an adjustment or setup won’t take care of your high action, you may need a neck reset.  A neck reset involves removing the neck of your guitar and resetting the angle to lower the action of the strings.

• Standard neck reset for an Acoustic Guitar.  $250.00+
• “Cheapy” neck reset (involves no finish work) is usually done on less expensive instruments.  $100.00
